April 2004 News News page Archive Secret Santa Breakfast Fundraiser at Applebee's April 24 In partnership with the Washington County Commissioners, Washington-Morgan Community Action is once again providing the Secret Santa Program to the residents of Washington County. Secret Santa is a supplemental gift program that attempts to match low income families in need of Christmas gifts with generous residents and businesses throughout the county that are willing to share their Christmas spirit thorough donations and sponsorships. On Saturday, April 24, 2004, Applebee's of Marietta will once again sponsor a pancake breakfast for the Washington-Morgan Community Action Secret Santa Program. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The "all you can eat" menu includes pancakes, bacon, sausage, and a drink. Tickets are $5.00 each with children under 5 eating for free. Tickets will be sold at the door and at Washington-Morgan Community Action, 218 Putnam Street in Marietta. All proceeds from this event will be used to buy gifts for children requiring assistance from the Secret Santa Program. Secret Santa is a supplemental gift program that attempts to match low income families in need of Christmas gifts with generous residents and businesses throughout the county that are willing to share their Christmas spirit thorough donations and sponsorships. Over the past eight years the Secret Santa Program has seen a steady increase in the number of families requesting assistance. Many families, for a variety of reasons, are unable to find extra money for Christmas. Through sponsorships and donations the program is able to provide toys, clothes and food to disadvantaged children. Applebee's of Marietta worked with the Secret Santa Program in 2003 by sponsoring pancake breakfasts and a celebrity server day. Applebee's helped the Secret Santa program raise over $4,500 for the 2003 program.
