Smart Money Choices: Hard Times to Hope Surviving 2009 Handling money in this time of economic distress can be even more confusing than usual. In order to get a better grasp on what to do, the Ohio Treasurer, Kevin L. Boyce, is bringing the Smart Money Choices Tour to Marietta on Friday, August 28. This free event is for anyone that would like to get a better grasp on their finances and to get their lives under control. There will be many different workshops between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. that participants can choose from. They can stay for all four sessions or come for specific workshops. The event will take place at Washington State Community College at 710 Colegate Drive in the Arts and Sciences Building. A delicious lunch will be provided for all participants. The different workshops will help make people more comfortable figuring out and working with their finances. It will teach them to set realistic goals and how to plan in order to achieve them. By using these planning techniques it will be easier to deal with hard times and the future. This event will be a great way to get an understanding on what different financial terms mean and how to avoid falling into traps. They will also show how to cut different costs by figuring out what is important and what is disposable. After attending the event, participants will have a better understanding of their finances and how to plan. All the courses are taught by reputable professionals who are ready to help with great exercises, tools and resources that will be beneficial even after the day is done.
