VISTA Summer Associates
(Volunteers in Service to America)
Washington-Morgan Community Action is seeking two bright, well-organized individuals with initiative, excellent verbal and written communication skills and proficient computer skills to serve as VISTA Summer Associates.
VISTA Summer Associates will be responsible for assisting the summer feeding site supervisor administer the Summer Feeding Program. This includes serving meals, conducting activities at the sites and outreach to children in the area to increase attendance at the sites. Assignments will begin June 23 and end August 15. VISTA Summer Associates will work 40 hours per week.
Associates will be paid a living allowance bi-weekly through AmeriCorps and a mileage stipend for travel to the sites by Washington-Morgan Community Action. After completing the service term, the VISTA Summer Associate will have a choice between an education award, to be used towards college expenses, or a post service cash award.
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older and be a US Citizen, Natural or Legal Resident. They must also have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation and be insured.
